Merger Changeover June 2019
On Wednesday 26th June we held our Merger Changeover. This was a unique night in that it combined the Changeover of 3 Clubs and the presentation of a new Charter to the newly merged Club. We are hoping that this will reinvigorate the Rotary experience of the members of these 3 Clubs (with a combined 150 years of Rotary Service) and open up greater opportunities of service to both the local and International communities. Special awards were given out by both the Rotary Clubs of Oakleigh and Clayton. Danny Petrie (Oakleigh) presented the Perc Moore Scholarship to Baiden Harris, the Allen James Scholarship to Mandy Davis and the Len and Edna Hawkett Award to Aleesha Hodge. Then PP Jon Breisch (Clayton) presented a PHF to Sam Oddo, and a PHF (4 sapphires) to Jim Cochrane, Jean Cochrane & Michael Ellinger. Cheques were also presented to Wirringga Scouts, Interplast, Shelley Gurney for RAM and Dianne Sides towards setting up of a Schooling Scholarship for Anton in Timor. Then under the watchful eye of Immediate Past President of Rotary International Ian Riseley, we had the changing of the guard where the three presidents, Ian Phelan (Oakleigh), Jon Breisch (Clayton) and Anne Mooney (Huntingdale) handed in their Presidential collars. Then it was time for Ian to present President David Park with his new collar and the Charter of the Rotary Club of Oakleigh Clayton Huntingdale (or OCH for short). It was a great night of celebration and expectation for the years ahead.
