2022 Club Changeover Function – High Tea
The club had a very successful Change Over Function as a High Tea at Gables on Finch, Sunday 3rd July with 50 people in attendance.
On arrival a glass of bubbles & background music – South Oakleigh College students Jason Pouliezos & Nicole Gordon.
Master of Ceremonies Ian Phelan opened the program by welcoming;
All members, honorary members and partners and guests - Rotary District Governor -Ken Millner, Rotary immediate Past District Governor -Dr Daryl Moran & Jenny, Colin Bostock & Jane - representing City of Monash, Rotary District Governor Elect -Ian Ballantine, Rotary Assistant Governor - Trish Smyth, Tony Katsianos - Deputy Principal, South Oakleigh College, Rose Lazzaro & Lisa Casey - Bunnings South Oakleigh, Vaughan & Noelle Smith - Dixon House, Wil & Sue Cornelissen - Rotary Club of Waverley, Angela Forthun - Rotary Club Glen Waverley, Graham Williams, extended Robertson family, extended Whiting family & South Oakleigh College Students.
Acknowledgment of Country was presented by Felicity Smith, followed by The National Anthem sung by South Oakleigh College Student Julia Creeley.
President Marcus toasted Australia & Rotary International with Past District Governor - Dr Daryl Moran responding.
During the scrumptious High Tea silent presentations of club videos -Join Rotary /Golf Day /Market & Golf Sponsors provided entertainment on the big screen. This was followed by a Musical Recital – South Oakleigh College students Jason Pouliezos & Sophia Donnellon, and the meeting thanked all South Oakleigh College students by acclimation.
President Marcus Robertson provided an excellent overview of the 2021- 2022 year, including thanking all members for their contributions. PHF Presentations were made to; Rose Lazzaro & John Wong (Received by Vaughan Smith President Dixon House Neighbourhood Centre), with introduction by Jackie Gleeson and presentation by - DG Ken Miller. A Certificate of Appreciation was given to Ian Ballantine for his photographic support of club community events.
Thank you, presentations were made to Bronwen Lamond & Michael and Marcus Robertson & Asha by Lesley Zuccaro.
Incoming President David Whiting was then inducted by Outgoing President Marcus & DG Ken, following which he introduced the Incoming Board & Committee Chairs and summarised the Imagine Rotary year ahead, as having all the makings of an exciting year –
- plenty of opportunity to make significant contributions to our communities
- hopefully taking into account the Rotary 7 Areas of Focus.
- a lady, for the first time World President - Jennifer Jones
- the Rotary International Convention in Melbourne 27- 31 May 2023
- And ABOVE ALL the opportunity to have great fellowship & fun while we have our Rotary minds & hats ON!

District Governor Ken Millner gave a snapshot of the Big Picture from the District point of view and formalities concluded with a video clip - RI President, Jennifer E Jones introducing The Imagine Rotary year.
